Walking in Favor

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other." - Galatians 5:22-26

Someone told me recently, after I shared the heart behind the Leila Belle brand,
that I’m “the next Martha Stewart.”

It made me smile- not from pride, but from gratitude. I have deep respect for Martha and the empire she’s built. There’s much to learn from women like her who have shaped culture through creativity, refinement, and vision.

But when I heard those words, something in me hesitated...

Not because I reject the comparison, but because my calling has always felt… different.
Unique in origin. Sacred in timing.

When I sat down for Bible study tonight, I came upon this passage in Galatians.
It spoke directly to my spirit- especially that final reminder:
“Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

It was as if the verse gently realigned my heart.

I don’t need to strive to become something; I only need to remain in step with the Spirit, allowing His fruit to shine through everything I create.

The work of my hands, my art, my home, my words- all of it flows from love, joy, peace, and gentleness.

That’s the essence of Leila Belle.
It isn’t about being the “next” anything.

It’s about being the only- the one God designed for this exact expression of beauty and service.

I’ve come to understand that when your work is rooted in Spirit, it carries a fragrance all its own.

You don’t have to compete or prove your worth. You simply radiate it- quietly, gracefully, unmistakably.

Maybe that’s why I pour my heart so fully into every project: not to outperform, but to uplift.
It's a gentle reminder that favor isn’t something you chase; it’s something you carry.
And when you walk in it, everyone around you feels it too.
